Customers at the pharmacy often call with concern about where their medications are manufactured.
In our global marketplace, pharmaceuticals are manufactured in many different countries throughout the world.
The customers least favorite countries for that are China and India. Some customers will refuse medications that are made in those countries, or whatever country had the most recent bad press.
But my thoughts are always, why are customers so concerned about the country where they are manufactured, and yet I very rarely hear concern about:
- The toxic side effects of many of these drugs.
- The fact that the pharmaceutical company that manufactures the drugs are the same ones that seek to profit from it’s sales. When a study shows that the placebo has better results than the drug being tested, or severe side effects, then THAT study will never see the light of day and the public will never be aware of it.
- The fact that the Food and Drug Administration approves medications and severe side effects are discovered later.
- Most drugs don’t heal you, but create long-term customers.
- The fact that there are often natural and holistic remedies that are less toxic and more affordable, but your doctor doesn’t know about them because they are not part of medical school.
